(Libro de Mormón) Éter 6:18 "se hicieron fuertes en la tierra". Hoy día, personas están perezosos y obesos. Por qué? Porque no "cultivan" su propia "tierra". Fueron diligentes y trabajaron en las cosas que eran sus propias responsabilidades; sus cosas que fueron suyas, cosechando sus propias recompensas (que fue la causa de motivación para ganar mas, y trabajar de verdad).

Éter 6:19, 21 Había una conexión, un vínculo entre ellos - la generación antigua y la generación nueva. Ambos se preocupaba por lo que el otro tenía que decir.

(Book of Mormon) Ether 6:18 "They did wax strong in the Land". Today people are obese or lazy. Why? Because they don't "till" their own "land", their "earth". They were diligent and worked on the things that were their own responsibilities; the things that were theirs, reaping their own rewards. (Causing motivation to gain more and actually work.)

Ether 6:19, 21 There was a connection, a bond between the older generation and the newer generation. Both cared about what the other had to say.

(Doctrine and Covenants) D&C 132:36 Abraham didn't "refuse" the commandment to kill, as he was commanded to do so, even if it was a commandment not to kill. But he would obey because God told him almost directly (if not directly) to do so.

D&C 132:37-39 God gave the ancient prophets commandments to have more than one wife when God, and only God, commanded it to happen, and when they obeyed, it wasn't a sin. But when they didn't obey, or thought to have more women than the Lord commanded, it was a sin, because the Lord didn't command it.

-David's example: He had wives and concubines, but he sinned against God by desiring Bathsheba, whom the Lord did not approve of because she was married to another.

+He wanted her out of lust, not out of God's will.

He has fallen from exaltation and won't inherit more because God gave that which would have been his to another.

(Book of Mormon) Ether 6:12-13 They gave thanks the moment they reached their destination.

-They humbled themselves and shed tears because they acknowledged the tender mercies they had received.

+They were thankful for the little things.

Afterwards, they worked instead of being lazy.

Ether 6:17 The sons and daughters of the people who had journeyed "were taught to walk humbly before the Lord".

-For being so righteous they were "taught from on high".

+They received revelations and were guided by the spirit in all things.

Something fun - Algo divertido

Yesterday afternoon we were watching TV when we heard some chirping outside and something hitting the window. We openned the blinds and there were new, baby chicks learning how to fly! It was so CUTE and such an opportunity! I've never seen baby chicks learning how to fly and it's not something you'd see everyday. The mother bird was flying around the yard making sure there were no predators and I believe there were 2 baby birds.. One of them flew into the window and fell to the ground and chirped. The other sat on my little brother's toy water gun catching its breath. Just a fun thing I thought I'd share. :)

Ayer por la tarde, estábamos mirando la tele cuando escuchamos algo piando afuera y algo pegando la ventana. Abrimos las persianas y allí estaba pajaritos nuevitos aprendiendo volar! Fue tan lindo y una oportunidad grande! Nunca he visto pajaritos aprender volar y no es algo que se ve muy a menudo. La mama pájaro estaba volando por el patio asegurándose que no había predadores y yo creo que hubo 2 pajaritos.. Uno de ellos voló a la ventana y cayó y pió. El otro descansó en el juguete pistola de agua de mi hermanito, para recuperar el aliento. Eso solo fue una cosa divertida que pensé de compartir. :)

(Book of Mormon) Ether 6:3-10 Parallels of their Journey and our Lives = We are the men women and children who need to pass the great dark waters. Our Father has given us light so we may not cross in darkness

-We have the Scriptures and living Prophets

-They were prepared with food. To us, we must be prepared by feasting on the words of God.

-They commended themselves into the hands of God.

There was a furious wind that was necessary to get them to the Promised Land, but caused trials for them as well. They were shoved deep into the sea and the waves crashed against them.

-There are trials in our lives that are hard but necessary to bring us back to our Heavenly Father.

-They prayed or "cried unto the Lord" when it seemed as if the trials were too hard to bear.

They did sing and praise God, not forgetting to thank him for his guidance. No monster of the sea could destroy them and they had continual light.

-How often do we thank our Lord even when we are in continual trials and strife? If we do as He says and make sure to thank Him, no harmful thing will be able to lay hold on us. And then we must thank Him again. :)

(Libro de Mormón) Éter 5:1 El Señor mandó a Moroni a escribir cosas de acuerdo con su memoria. Entonces obviamente fue capaz, si el Señor le ayudó a recordar o si Él confió en él, a sabiendas de Moroni podía hacerlo.

Éter 5:2 No mostrar cosas preciosas a los que te conocen tienen el corazón endurecido, pero que muestran esas cosas a las personas que conoces son sus aliados y se colabore en la obra.

Éter 5:3-4 Testimonio de tres testigos = estas cosas han de ser cierto

-Deberá presentarse como testimonio contra el mundo en el último día

(Doctrina y Convenios) DyC 132:29 Abraham recibió (y aceptó) todas las cosas (dado a el por Dios) y ya se sienta en el trono de exaltación.

DyC 132:30 Su posteridad segirá creciendo en la vida venidera.

DyC 132:31 La posteridad de Abraham también tiene esta promesa porque somos sus descendientes. Entonces nosotros tambien debemos continuar de obedecer los mandamientos como Abraham lo hizo, "recibiendo todas las cosas".

(Book of Mormon) Ether 5:1 The Lord commanded Moroni to write things according to his memory. So obviously he was able, whether the Lord helped him remember or whether He confided in him, knowing Moroni could do it.

Ether 5:2 Do not show precious things to those who you know have hardened hearts, but show those things to people you know are your allies and will assist with the work.

Ether 5:3-4 Testimony of three witnesses = these things shall be true

-Shall stand as a testimony against the world at the last day

(Doctrine and Covenants) D&C 132:29 Abraham received (and accepted) all things (given to him by God) and now sits upon the throne of exaltation.

D&C 132:30 His seed will continue to grow in the next life.

D&C 132:31 The seed of Abraham also has this promise because we are decendants. Thus we, too, must continue to obey the commandments as Abraham did, "receiving all things."

(Libro de Mormón) Éter 4:11-12 Don del Espíritu Santo = El espíritu dará testimonio que las cosas de las que Dios habla son verdaderas.

-persuade a los hombres a hacer lo BUENO

+Podemos saber si es del diablo o de Dios (Por ejemplo: servicio desinteresado)

-Es un mandamiento que guardamos un diario y escribir estas cosas que nos traen mas cerca a Dios

Éter 4:13-15 No se caen en la incredulidad = el conocimiento esta oculto cuando caemos en la incredulidad. Podemos venir a Él si empezamos a no creer y Él nos mostrará las cosas grandes que ibamos a recibir si continuaramos de obedecer.

-La incredulidad nos hace permanecer en un espantoso estado de iniquidad, dureza de corazón, y ceguedad de mente.

-Podemos romper este hábito al orar en el nombre de Cristo, con un corazón quebrantado y un espíritu contrito.

+entonces el Padre te perdonará y recordará Sus promesas.

Éter 4:17 La obra del Señor HA empezado. Hemos recibido el registro, que es un señal de los Últimos Días.

Éter 4:18-19 Morar en el Reino Necesitamos arrepentirnos, creer en el evangelio, o sea, tener fe en Cristo, ser bautizado, y seguir fiel a su nombre hasta el ÚLTIMO día.

-Milagros y "señales" o "pruebas" serán manifestados a aquellos que crean.

(Book of Mormon) Ether 4:11-12 Gifts of the Holy Ghost = The spirit will bear record that the things the Lord speaks are true.

-It persuadeth all men to do GOOD

+we can know if it is of the devil or of God (Ex: disinterested service)

-It is a commandment that we keep a journal and write these things that bring us closer to God.

Ether 4:13-15 Don't fall into unbelief = Knowledge is hidden when we fall into un/disbelief. We can come unto Him if we ever do start to disbelieve and He will show us what great things He had had in store for us if we would have continued obeying.

-Unbelief:Keeps us in a state of wickedness, hardness of heart, and blindness of mind.

-We can break that habit by praying in the name of Christ, with a broken heart and a contrite spirit.

+Then The Father shall forgive you and "remember" His promises.

Ether 4:17 The work of the Lord HAS started. We have received the record, which is a sign of the last days.

Ether 4:18-19 To dwell in the Kingdom = We need to repent, believe in the Gospel, or in other words, have faith in Christ, be baptized, and stay faithful unto His name until the LAST day.

-Miracles and "signs" or "proofs" will be made manifest to those who believe.
